Merchant Center Issues

Modified on Fri, 07 Apr 2023 at 11:47 AM

This article helps you with product warnings and disapprovals, and what to do.

Before your products are disapproved by Google, you will receive a warning first, this gives you time to fix this issue, so your products will keep being active on Google Shopping.

When your product gets disapproved, you will receive a message from Google Merchant Center and you will get a notification in your Merchant Center (you can see your notifications when you click on the bell in the top right corner).

The email or notification shows the reason for the disapproval, with a Google article explaining how to fix the issue. When you have fixed the issue, you can request a review in your Merchant Center to approve your products again.

There are a few disapprovals that don’t come with a warning, for example Misrepresentation.

To request a review, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Center Account.

  2. Click on Products in the navigation menu, then click Diagnostics.

  3. Click the Account issues tab.

  4. Locate the account-level issue that you would like to have reviewed.

  5. Make sure that there are in-stock products uploaded and all issues for the affected target country are resolved.

  6. Click Request review.

  7. Check the box and click Request review.

If you have any questions or need help dealing with the disapprovals, you can always email support@producthero.com

My free listings are not showing after switching to Producthero CSS

It is possible that your Free Listings are not showing anymore after the switch. The reason for this is that you lose the claim of your domain when you switch your Merchant Center to an MCA of a CSS partner. This is an error from Google that is not yet fixed, but we’ve made a workaround for this.

This is how you can fix this easily.

  1. Create a new Merchant Center on Google CSS. It is important that you do this with a Gmail account that hasn’t created a Merchant Center yet.

  2. In this Merchant Center, you verify and claim the URL that you are using in your current Merchant Center. It is not necessary to upload your products in this Merchant Center.

  3. Once the above two steps are completed, you can select Producthero for Free Listings in the new Merchant Center. (Gear wheel > Shopping ads setup > Comparison Shopping Services > three dots behind Producthero.

We’ve written a detailed blog about this, you can find it hereAfter following the steps, the free listings should now be active again. If you still experience problems, please contact support@producthero.com
